As a well-known Canadian media executive, Lisa de Wilde is committed to building strong Canadian media voices and believes in harnessing technology to drive innovation to help reinvent learning and enhance citizen engagement. Since 2005, Lisa has served as TVO's Chief Executive Officer leading the transformation of TVO into Ontario's digital learning organization.
Lisa is an advocate of making educational media a key part of the knowledge architecture of digital media. She is committed to ensuring Canadian leadership in this medium in a globally-connected world and to fostering high quality current affairs journalism in support of an effective democratic society. She began her career as legal counsel for the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission, led Astral Television Networks, and served as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) until 2016. She also serves on the Board of Directors of TELUS Corporation and EnerCare Inc.
Lisa is a Member of the Order of Canada and has received honourary degrees (Doctor of Laws) from Ryerson University in 2016 and Brandon University in 2015. She is also a recipient of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal, and was recognized with the WXN Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award.
Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts and law degree from McGill University, Montreal.
