Taizaburo "Ted" Egawa was appointed President & CEO of Canon Canada Inc. on February 1, 2014.
Ted Egawa joined Canon Inc. in 1983, beginning his career with the International Business Management department where he was responsible for office equipment sales to corporate clients. In 1984, he spent a year with Canon Canada's Camera and Video division.
In his 34 years with the company, Ted has worked globally with several Canon regions, including Japan and the United States (New York and California).
Prior to becoming Canon Canada's President & CEO, Mr. Egawa was the Vice-President & General Manager of Strategy Planning & Administration for the Imaging Technologies and Communications Division at Canon USA. In this role he was responsible for the strategic direction and business operations for Canon's digital photographic and imaging solutions products.
Since re-joining Canon Canada in 2014, Mr. Egawa has redefined the company's vision and mission and led the building of the company's new soon-to-be LEED Gold Certified Headquarters in Brampton, Ontario. Under his leadership, Canon Canada has achieved strong financial results, experienced a resurgence in their traditional product markets, expanded channel growth and seen increased community engagement.
In 2017, Mr. Egawa was appointed President of Toronto Shokokai, the Toronto Japanese Association of Commerce & Industry. Shokokai represents the Japanese Business Community in Ontario and promotes economic, commercial and industrial activities of these organizations, as well as friendly relations between Canada and Japan. Mr. Egawa was previously a Vice-President of Shokokai's Board of Directors.
A native of Tokyo, Mr. Egawa holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Chuo University in Japan. He and his wife reside in Mississauga.
