Immersive Virtual Reality Experience Sandbox VR Opening in Toronto
Sandbox VR offers a uniquely social and immersive VR world for friends
Toronto, Ontario (April 14, 2022) – Preeminent immersive virtual reality (VR) experience Sandbox VR is officially opening its first Toronto location right next to Church-Wellesley Village on April 16, 2022. The store marks Sandbox VR’s second location in Canada, with its first store in Vancouver operating since 2019 and continuing to show great success despite the pandemic. The Toronto location offers four virtual reality rooms for full-body VR gaming experience, where each room can accommodate up to 6 players at a time, with
five different immersive worlds
to experience. Both locations are owned by Canadian franchisee, Vortex Gaming Ltd.
“We are delighted to have our flagship store launched in the heart of the largest city in Canada: Toronto, Ontario,” says Ian Chang, CEO of Vortex Gaming Ltd. “The people here are passionate, energetic, and full of imagination. We want to introduce them to the most exciting entertainment with the latest technology to the city. ‘Everything is possible’ is our core philosophy at Sandbox VR, and we take pride in providing our guests with the absolute best customer service. Sandbox VR is not just any traditional VR arcade – it is a world-class virtual reality experience.”
Sandbox VR offers a socially immersive gaming experience that provides players a unique combination of full-body motion capture and VR technologies, enabling players to step into a range of characters and places. Players use a headset, haptic vest, backpack, goggles, and motion sensors on their wrists and ankles to fully immerse themselves in a virtual reality and free-roam together with their friends. At Sandbox VR, players can complete missions together, from defeating zombies in a haunted mansion to family-friendly space missions in the
Star Trek
universe.
With over a dozen locations worldwide, Sandbox VR is a leader in free-roam virtual reality entertainment. Sandbox VR has been working closely with Toronto Global, a team of experienced business advisors assisting global businesses to expand into the Toronto Region.
“From exploring an immersive sci-fi world to walking around inside your favourite video game, VR is a space where technology and artistry meet,” said Toronto Mayor John Tory. “We’re thrilled to welcome the innovative Sandbox VR to the Toronto Region and look forward to your flagship store joining our dynamic entertainment industry. Not to mention, we’re excited to try one of your unique VR experiences ourselves!”
Sandbox VR continues to implement strict health and safety protocols by offering private room reservations and complete equipment sanitization after every use, as well as limited reservation capacity, mandatory masks or face coverings, and contactless setup to ensure social distancing.
