The Toronto Region remains Canada’s top destination for global investment, and this past year demonstrated the resilience of that position. Amid geopolitical uncertainty, trade disruptions and a more cautious investment climate, international companies continued to choose the region for its talent, innovation ecosystem and ability to support long-term growth.
In 2025/26, Toronto Global, in collaboration with our regional, provincial and federal partners, secured 38 investments that created 1,448 direct jobs and generated $1.6 billion in capital expenditures, contributing $122 million in tax revenue across all levels of government. Beyond these results, many of these investments strengthened priority sectors, advanced research and innovation, and reinforced the Toronto Region’s long-term competitiveness in a rapidly evolving global economy.
Importantly, a growing number of these investments are landing across multiple municipalities, reflecting how global companies increasingly view the Toronto Region as a connected economic ecosystem rather than a collection of individual markets.

From Our Leaders
When I reflect on this year, I think not just about the numbers, but what they represent. In a more challenging global environment, we continued to attract investment in emerging sectors such as AI, semiconductors and advanced health technologies, secured important long-term funding commitments, and championed initiatives like Toronto’s bid for the Defence, Security and Resilience Bank. Those achievements are key indicators that Toronto Global is becoming a stronger, more durable institution, better positioned to support the region’s competitiveness for years to come.
Stephen Lund, Chief Executive Officer, Toronto Global
One of the things that continues to impress me about the Toronto Region is our willingness to come together in pursuit of opportunities that benefit us all. This year, that spirit was evident in everything from the investments we attracted to the broad coalition of partners who helped advance Toronto’s bid for the Defence, Security and Resilience Bank. Those efforts remind us that our greatest competitive advantage is more than any single asset, but our ability to work together. I’m incredibly proud of what our team and partners have accomplished, and even more excited about where this region is headed next.
