Steve Howse
Steve Howse is the founder and President of Millington & Associates Inc; a consulting firm providing service in the areas of facilitation (strategic retreats, effective meetings, large groups), sales (performance & training, strategy, structure, compensation and tools), marketing (strategy, business plan evaluation, market development and customer service), communications (public and media relations, crisis management), coaching (executive coaching, True Colours assessment), Risk Assessment (I.T. and process risk assessment) and governance. Since 2004, fulfilling the strategic needs of over 200 clients including Pioneer Energies, Mevotech, Brady Financial, Branthaven Homes, Atlas Care, Hamilton International Airport, Sun Chemical Canada and Pearson Dunn.
Steve was a forum chair for MacKay CEO Forums for 3 years. MacKay is partnered with Deloitte Best Managed Companies and provides results-oriented, professionally facilitated, peer learning groups for best managed companies and high performance executives. Steve is the forum chair for both the GTA and South Western Ontario.
A Chartered Director since 2007, Steve is a board member of Advica Health. Passionate about his community and giving back to society, he has sat on NFP boards since 1992 including Chairman of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame & Museum from 2009 to 2013. He just completed two terms as a Governor & Heritage Services Chair for Golf Canada. Other past boards include; Globility Communications, Direct Access Marketing, the Oakville Chamber of Commerce and McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation.
A former Adjunct Professor (7 years) at the DeGroote School of Business, Steve has taught Business Strategy, B-to-B Marketing and International Business for the MBA and the Bachelor of Commerce programs. He is presently an instructor for the Executive Education Sales Leadership and Strategic Planning programs, and faculty of the Directors College, leading a module on I.T. Strategy and the Risk Mitigation.
A well-regarded professional speaker, Steve often speaks at events, conferences and to individual businesses. With over 15 years of media experience, he is a business commentator and political pundit for numerous TV, radio and print media companies.
Prior to founding Millington & Associates, Steve had a highly successful sales career in the telecom industry that found him transplanted across the country to Vancouver, Ottawa and back to southern Ontario. He supported clients in Canada, The United States, Europe, Scandinavia, and Australia. By 1993 he was promoted to his first management role and over the next 12 years held progressively more senior roles with both start-up organizations and large corporations.
Steve has two daughters, Cassandra and Sarena, and with what little free time is left, he enjoys playing hockey and golf.
